The Sony PS3 Jailbreak device was developed so that consumers could reinstall Linux free and open sauce software onto the Playstation 3 Computer system. When Sony sold the ps3 it was advertised with key features such as the "OtherOS" feature that enabled Linux free and open sauce software to be developed and run on the ps3 computer. Sony removed this feature in April 2010, under the guise of an "update" to consumers computers.
If a car manufacture turned up at your door to remove your power steering four years after you purchased the car I’am sure you would have something to say about this
Norway consumer council say's the removal of key features is actually a downgrade to customers console's and not an "update".
Finnish consumer board recommends that Sony should pay one hundred Euros compensation..to Finnish man for the removal of the Other OS feature.

"Other OS feature" returns to Playstation via jailbreak.
A short time after Sony removed the "Other OS feature" from the Playstation in April 2010, George Hotz "Geohot" developer of the Apple iPhone jailbreak releases the code that enables consumers to jailbreak their Playstation three console's. Consumers could finally reinstate Linux features back onto their property, and this was quickly followed by the World wide distribution of the Sony ps3 Jailbreak dongle unit.
Sony are trying to stop their customers from reinstating valuable functions and using free independent software on the ps3 computer. Ozmodchips in Australia was the first company in the World to be injunction ed by Sony for distribution of the Jailbreak dongle.
Spanish Court rules Jailbreak Legal
Sony lost their fight to ban the sale of the ps3 jailbreak dongle in the Spain. Sony was also forced to pay all the Spanish distributors Court costs and compensation for lost sales of the jailbreak dongles.
Despite the ps3 Jailbreak being ruled Legal in Spain an EU Member State Sony has issued High Court Action against UK distributors in order to prevent the sale of the device.
October 2010, Sony start High Court Action against .Playbackups.com. Sony then send their thugs to deliver High Court paperwork to the wrong company and their agents unlawfully force entry, imprison and assault a person from the wrong company in another show of how Sony consider themselves to be above the Law...

In Sony's documentation supplied by to the High Court in London and before this video was released, Sony's thug states: " I walked inside. I handed over a sealed parcel, which he threw to the floor, He was shouting and would not listen to any explanation".
Sony's hired thug then claims in his Affidavit made under Oath that, after he had walked in and handed over the paperwork and it was thrown to the floor by the innocent guy in the video, the innocent guy in the video then (he claims) attempted to physically remove sony's thugs from the premises.

Geohot who now works for Facebook broke the code for the ps3 computer to allow Linux applications to be reinstated was sued by Sony in January 2011.

April 16 2011, Anonymous launch Operation Sony on Facebook and called for a World wide Boycott of Sony products and a peaceful sit in at Sony centers. This was due to Sony's policies of removing features from the ps3 console and pursuing through the courts anyone who tried to reinstate those features. Sony also tried to obtain personal details of consumers that visited Geohot's Facebook and paypal accounts.

20th April 2011, Sony take's down Playstation network "PSN"
Sony shuts down the PSN and announces they have been hacked. It seems that Sony have managed to lose 77 Million of their customers personal data inc, names, date-of-births, passwords and credit card details.
It has been reported that Sony were using "obsolete" software to protect their customers important personal data and Sony knew that their customers personal data was a risk and did nothing to protect it..
Sony face Legal action over the data breech caused by Sony's obsolete data protection methods and may cost Sony as much as $24 Billion to compensate customers and repair their security system.. 77 Million PSN users were unable to use any of Sony's online services for over 4 weeks and up to 8 weeks for consumers in Asia.

28th July 2011 -Sony use UKIE Ltd in an alleged attempt to pervert the course of justice in UK ps3 jailbreak case.
It has been alleged that Sony used their agents at UK Interactive Entertainment Ltd and their network of private investigators (former Police officers), to collude with Law enforcement agencies who then launch raids on playbackups.com in an illegal attempt to win their UK jailbreak case, by removing defense documentation and computers.
Board members of UK Interactive Entertainment Ltd (UKIE) are also employed by Sony computer Entertainment Europe. Repair Manchester has confirmed that In November 2010, UKIE made a complaint against playbackups.com to UK Law enforcement agencies, at the same time that Sony's London solicitors launched their ps3 jailbreak case in the High Court against playbackups.com.
In June 2011, playbackups.com v Sony ps3 jailbreak case was delayed due to an application to have the case moved from the High Court in London, to the High Court in Manchester.
28th July 2011, Law enforcement agencies accompanied by a person who claims he works for UKIE Ltd (Retired DS John Ingham of Argus Investigations) then launched raids against playbackups.com, and subsequently handed over defense documentation, computers and other items that were seized to Sony's agents at UK Interactive Entertainment Ltd. (UKIE)
This collusion between Law enforcement agencies and Sony's agents "UKIE ltd" is prejudicial and amounts to perversion of the course of justice in the High Court case of playbackups.com v Sony.

Perverting the course of Justice in the High Court it would seem is standard procedure for Sony, UKIE Ltd and UK Law enforcement agencies.

"To say Sony licences you a piece of hardware is one of the most idiotic arguments of our time. If that was the case, then they'd have to replace your unit if it breaks, they don't, therefore the device is yours when you purchase it.
The device is a computer equipment designed for entertainment, but a computer nontheless. Therefore the buyer should have the right to do whatever the hell they want with it, including reverse engineering it, which to my knowledge is no crime as long as you don't plan to break the law by selling illegal copies or sharing them.
Sony licencing anyone a 600 bucks on launch console my ass. Just because you're ready to let them stick it to you doesn't mean everyone else should, that's why I say go anonymous, well done!"

Sony Trafford centre shut-down for good.
It was only 12 months ago on the 16th April 2011, that saw the same stores close their doors on peaceful protesters that called for a sit-in at Sony centers World wide and a Boycott of Sony products, this was due to Sony's Anti consumer policies. Sony's Trafford centre store below was closed and guarded by Police this time last year, as Sony were expecting large numbers of "Operation Sony" protesters to attend.
